Abstract

Traumas to upper and lower extremities accompanied by excessive tissue loss require longterm treatment and cause difficulties for Plastic Surgeons. However, early clinical assesment may help determine the choice of treatment. Early revascularizatian plays important role in the outcome, but it is not always possible. We present three cases showing much more favorable outcome than we expected. We observed that skin grafting provided cure of the injuries, apparently incurable, especially in the young and children and that radical debridment could sometimes be unnecessary. We also found that succesfull results could be obtained with immediate reconstruction in cases most likely to undergo amputation.
