Abstract

Between 1987 and 1993, 154 patients with intertrochanteric fractures were treated surgically in the Department of Orthopaedic and Traumatology of Medical Faculty, Erciyes University. 115 patients were treated by Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) 56 patients who were followed-up approximately 2.5 years and controlled finally were evaluated clinically and radiologically. In conclusion, Dynamic Hip Screw is a successful procedure in intertrochanteric fractures when there is an appropriate indication and when the poper technique is used.
