Methods: Seventeen patients were evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging because of the clinically, suspected hip fractures without radiological evidence. The magnetic resonance were done within twenty-four hours after the admission of the patients.
Results: In 14 patients a fracture was detected while for remaining 3 patients final diagnosis was a vascular necrosis of the femoral head.
Conclusion: Magnetic resonance imaging is highly accurate in the assessment of occult fractures of the hip. Because its very he1pful for the early detection, it provides the opportunity of the early definitive treatment of those fractures.
