Between 1990-1993, in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital, 33 elderly osteoporotic patients with unstable intertrochanteric hip fractures were treated by primary hemiarthroplasty with Muller modular head straight stem endoprosthesis. Mean follow-up period is 13 months (3 months - 26 months). We have obtained excellent, very good and good results in 80-92% of the patients and poor results in 8-20% of the patients.
